Troublesome Comments About Dynas

Last month, there was a bike rally in Bay City Michigan ( www.baycitybikerbash.com ). I was born and raised in that town ( now live outside metro Detroit ) so naturally lots of my buddies still live there and all ride bikes. We were in there just partying and people watching, when the burnout contest started. So we walked over there and watched some of these guys smoking there tires in 1st or 2nd gear. Crowd was HUGE. After about 5 or 6 bikes with average burnouts, I went and got my 04 Wide Glide out of the parking lot and made my way through the crowd to the burn out platform. As I pulled my bike up on the platform, some guy said to my 6'3" brother - in -law "that bike aint no burn-out bike". He did not know that was my brother - in -law that he was talking to. My brother in law said "sh*t , he does 40ft burn-outs at the bar on that bike, he will win this no problem".
So I started out in 1st gear smoking my 2 week old Dunlop. After about 15 seconds in 1st, then I started shifting. Gentlemen, needless to say what happened after I started shifting. 5TH gear ! 115 mph on the speedo. I won the contest and got a stupid Molson T-shirt. But, remember that a Dyna won it . Not some fancy a**ed fat tire bike. Didn't see a softtail in 5th up there. Nope, just a "little" Dyna. LOL.
My brother in law asked that guy if he had any more comments about my bike, nope.
Pictures of tire, and also red hot pipes.
Anyone who says Dynas are not real Harleys, needs to stop sidewalk chatting about crap they dont know anything about.

I honestly have never had anyone say that to me at all. I agree it would have to be a RUB to say something idiotic like that. I can understand that alot of people pass over the Superglides because their dull/lacking in the chrome etc., but I think that's what helps make it different. I guess I could have bit the bullet and bought a more expensive model, but I got the Superglide, and have spent the difference in cash modifying it and making it MY bike.
