I recently attended a HOG rally in OTTOWA, IL. and have to say is that you see all differant bikes with all differant types of style. I personally love my Low Rider , its not about the model of HD you own its all about enjoying the ride. Enjoy yourself and wave to them as you pass them up !!!! Stay Safe.......... 2001 FXDL

Here is a TRUE story for all of you Dyna owners....I am sure you will like.

Last month, there was a bike rally in Bay City Michigan ( www.baycitybikerbash.com ). I was born and raised in that town ( now live outside metro Detroit ) so naturally lots of my buddies still live there and all ride bikes. We were in there just partying and people watching, when the burnout contest started. So we walked over there and watched some of these guys smoking there tires in 1st or 2nd gear. Crowd was HUGE. After about 5 or 6 bikes with average burnouts, I went and got my 04 Wide Glide out of the parking lot and made my way through the crowd to the burn out platform. As I pulled my bike up on the platform, some guy said to my 6'3" brother - in -law "that bike aint no burn-out bike". He did not know that was my brother - in -law that he was talking to. My brother in law said "sh*t , he does 40ft burn-outs at the bar on that bike, he will win this no problem".

So I started out in 1st gear smoking my 2 week old Dunlop. After about 15 seconds in 1st, then I started shifting. Gentlemen, needless to say what happened after I started shifting. 5TH gear ! 115 mph on the speedo. I won the contest and got a stupid Molson T-shirt. But, remember that a Dyna won it . Not some fancy a**ed fat tire bike. Didn't see a softtail in 5th up there. Nope, just a "little" Dyna. LOL.

My brother in law asked that guy if he had any more comments about my bike, nope.

Pictures of tire, and also red hot pipes.

Anyone who says Dynas are not real Harleys, needs to stop sidewalk chatting about crap they dont know anything about.

Dyna's too small...lololololololololol..damn but I needed to hear something that stupid.....hahahahahahahaha. I am almost 57 years old and started riding around 1960. I have owned Triumphs, BSA's, Matchless, AJS', Yamaha's and Honda's as well as Harleys...Dyna's are what brought the MC back from near death. I am riding an '03 Triumph Speedmaster right now and looking to buy a new Street Bob (damn, isn't that a too small Dyna?). Anyone who would say a Dyna is "too small" prolly never owned a motorcycle till he/she was 50 years old. If ya want an overweight motorcycle that cant do anything other than go in a straight line on the highway, that ya can carry 3 weeks change in underwear for you and your old lady (as well as her makeup and hair dryer).....buy a Winnabago...lol

Dyna's too small..hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha...made my day

Crow

ps: no knock on touring bikes, just the poser's riding them.

just for fun next time someone picks on you bike because it is "small' just tell them some poeple dont like riding fat things, but by looking at his wife it appears he does. no offense to anyone who ride a dresser, just a comment to shut up morons. Just ride what you like, and forget about what idiots think. I determined along time ago it is a good thing we all like something different, or we would all be chasing my girlfriend and driving my truck. i wouldnt be too happy about that. Enjoy

My FXD was barebones when I bought it, just the way I wanted it.
Same here with my '05 FXD. Originally bought it because of a limited budget but wanted the 88 motor. Since it's bare I can customize it the way I want, not the way some designer wants.

First of all, I thought this thread was long gone!

I honestly have never had anyone say that to me at all. I agree it would have to be a RUB to say something idiotic like that. I can understand that alot of people pass over the Superglides because their dull/lacking in the chrome etc., but I think that's what helps make it different. I guess I could have bit the bullet and bought a more expensive model, but I got the Superglide, and have spent the difference in cash modifying it and making it MY bike.
