Was there a DTC stored and the check engine light on? I did not see where you mentioned that. Tell them to take the sensor off a bike on the floor! Check the sensor connector for corrosion, low miles does not mean there can't be corrosion.

the check engine light came on briefly as the problem was occuring. Not sure what a "stored DTC" means. If it means a diagnostic readout then probably yes but I did not look for it myself.
They aren't taking a sensor off another bike.....they weren't even sympathetic for a second about the whole thing. I will not do business with this dealership ever again.

Did you talk with the General Manager or Owner about this, screw the flunkies in the Service dept!

Guys, I was at a couple of local dealerships this weekend and mentioned that I just put a PCV on my '09 Fatbob and the sales manager flipped. Said he has dumped water out of a bunch of them. I thought it was pretty protected as I mounted it right up underneath my seat. I haven't had any issues, but plan to put diaelectric grease in my connections and see if I can't add a "water flap" behind the rear jug (in front of all the electrical connectors" to keep the water out. One other note, I usually cover my seats with a large black garbage bag when washing my bike. No need to soak my leather, you can easily wipe it off. - RK.

Did you get the sensor replaced, problem solved?

According to the dealer, both the CPS and ECM had water in it. After swappng out the CPS with another, the bike still didn't run right after a test-ride by the mechanic. They looked at the ECM and claim there was water in that too....from sitting in the rain
I had a talk with the mechanic on duty. He told me what I already knew. "These bikes aren't like they used to be with all the electronics, if something gets wet........"
He also reminded me that the stock seat absorbs water like a sponge and will drip water on the exposed wiring under the seat.
My invoice from these "repairs" read this........
"Please keep in mind..this is not a car or a truck. Your bike needs to be protected from the elements. If the bike is caught in the rain or washed it should be dried off as soon as possible. We strongly recommend indoor storage for your bike or a good cover
My duc (ducatti) loves the rain... doesn't particularly like lightning, however
The only thing that stopped my Suzuli was when I didn't move a power wire out of the way when reinstalling the seat. The wire pinched between the seat and frame and eventually wore through, shorted, blew a fuse and stopped the bike.
I've had my 09 FatBob through some heavy downpours and have not had any problems yet, perhaps just lucky?
