Front fender for new 49mm mid glide - availability question
Advice on front fender availability needed.
The new front end I plan on doing (converting the 39mm narrow glide to a 49mm mid glide) means I will need to replace my front fender with a new fender. The wheel size will remain 19" but the new style lower forks mount differently (on one side of the lower fork) rather than the old style which bolts on both sides of the lower fork. (First pic shows old style fender.)
Does anyone know if HD makes a Vivid Black front fender with the red pin stripes like on my current fender, (same stripe as on tank in pic 2 and pic in signature) on the 49mm mid glide with the new mounting position?
I realize I could always pickup a fender and have it painted, but if it is available through HD (or ebay) in my color it would be simpler and maybe cost a bit less. Thanks.
Or just buy a solid Vivid black one and have it pinstripped, shouldn't be that hard to do. who knows, you might want more stripping on the rest on the bike....
They offer almost all current models in vivid black. You could try buying a fender that way and then just having it striped. The only current model that comes with striping that I can think of is the Cross Bones, but with the springer front end the fender may mount differently. You would have to get a look at one for sure.
Thanks for the reply. Thats probably what I will end up doing.
