Well you've got 2.5 inches on me and I only weigh 224 lbs. But I ride a Bob.
All Dynas are pretty much the same size. In fact there isn't much size difference even in the Road King. It just looks heavier with the larger fork trim, seat and the add ons.
You are probably going to need a custom seat if you buy the Bob. The Road King seat is fine. And you might have to either rotate your Bob Apes forward some or buy a 10inch riser Tbar setup to get your reach right.
You're are big guy but there is enough power there to carry you if you get a comfortable setup. Imagine what an NBA guy would be faced with, you're in a better size range than them. Buy what you like.
I used to weight 248 but the Doc told me I had to loose some of it or else go on blood pressure pills. I lost 24 lbs over 3 months and have kept it off for 2 yrs now. All my vitals came back down to normal after the weight came off. It's all exercise, smaller portions and lite beer.
I am 6'0 and 340 lbs. I fit just fine on my Dyna. I have forward controls, but I cut the bracket for the brake off and put the bare mid-pegs back on for more options.
Yesterday I sat on a friend's Softail, and I was surprised (again) how cramped it was.
I think it's because the way the seat goes wayyy down in front of the rear fender - sort of locks me in, and even with forward controls, my legs were too cramped.
With my Dyna I can move around in the seat a lot more.
