...it started for me back in 1969 when I returned from Vietnam...
That's when it all started for me too. Not long after returning from Vietnam in '68, I bought a '61 Caddy convertible and a new Honda 350. Had to be related to an expression of freedom after returning from the war and being free of the military. Then in '89, after 20 years of metric bikes, I bought my first Harley, a brand-new FXRS-SP.
I sat on a nightster first, too small. When I sat on a wide glide @ the shop with some apes on it, I loved it. It felt big with the tire so far out in front of me. So I ordered me a 2011, with 16 inch apes. Best investment I have ever made.
I've had 2 Ironheads (still have my '74), an Evo 883 with a 1250 kit and S&S cams, bike ripped, but was too small for me, got an offer to trade for a 93 Electra Glide, figured what the hell, never had a bagger. Hated it so much that I traded it in 2 weeks for the 99 Superglide I have now. I love it, it's like a giant Sportster.
I also wanted a nighttrain. I went to the a couple of dealerships, looked, priced, and dreamed. I searched the internet and found that the dyna line was more in my price range. Told the wife and went back to look at the street bob. It was not what I wanted but I was ready for a harley. So I settled for a dyna street bob. I told the wife I would trade it in in a few years to get what I really want, but I would be happy. Now I am looking at new harleys and to buy without trading my street bob in, because I dont ever see getting rid of her. Now my problem is I can not find a bike more comfortable than my Street bob.
I was looking for my first Harley after years of old school Yamahas, Hondas ect. found my bike on the internet. When I arrived at the dudes house and he pulled the cover off I swear I shivered. Bought it right there. 02' vivid black 9,000 miles. Paid 7,000 2 1/2 years ago. Thank you Jesus Thank you Jesus Thank you Jesus!
someone once said that girls ride sportsters. middle men ride softtails, and old people ride touring bikes.. but real riders ride a dyna. so im just trying to be cool as i can be
Hey ****** great line but seriously I was going to buy a Deuce but my buddy talked me out of it cause it had a carb. and Im a newbie so I sat on an Sglide liked it but didnt grab me.Then I sat on a Fat Bob and I knew this was it, it was a match.Luv my DYNA !!!
