That's when it all started for me too. Not long after returning from Vietnam in '68, I bought a '61 Caddy convertible and a new Honda 350. Had to be related to an expression of freedom after returning from the war and being free of the military. Then in '89, after 20 years of metric bikes, I bought my first Harley, a brand-new FXRS-SP.

I sat on a nightster first, too small. When I sat on a wide glide @ the shop with some apes on it, I loved it. It felt big with the tire so far out in front of me. So I ordered me a 2011, with 16 inch apes. Best investment I have ever made.

I've had 2 Ironheads (still have my '74), an Evo 883 with a 1250 kit and S&S cams, bike ripped, but was too small for me, got an offer to trade for a 93 Electra Glide, figured what the hell, never had a bagger. Hated it so much that I traded it in 2 weeks for the 99 Superglide I have now. I love it, it's like a giant Sportster.

Classic looks and minimal rake, mid controls and laced wheels sealed the deal.

Yea, mids are ok, but I'm way too tall for them, makes it feel like I'm riding a dirt bike.

I hated my FLH so much. Those things are heavy slow pigs. Like riding a 2 wheeled couch.

I also wanted a nighttrain. I went to the a couple of dealerships, looked, priced, and dreamed. I searched the internet and found that the dyna line was more in my price range. Told the wife and went back to look at the street bob. It was not what I wanted but I was ready for a harley. So I settled for a dyna street bob. I told the wife I would trade it in in a few years to get what I really want, but I would be happy. Now I am looking at new harleys and to buy without trading my street bob in, because I dont ever see getting rid of her. Now my problem is I can not find a bike more comfortable than my Street bob.

One of the purtiest looking used Harley on the lot... Seriously, the design and lines appealed to me and it was easy on the wallet.
