kickstand removal?

Default kickstand removal?

I lowered my 2009 fxd and need to do the kickstand mod. I can't see under it to figure it out.:>) Can anyone help me out nbefore I jack it up. Pictures maybe? Thanks I want to know how to take it off.

It would be much easier if you lift the bike.

I did mine on the bike with it on a jack. Would be easier if taken off but still not too bad if you leave it on the bike. I'll try to get you some pics, but basically, there is a tab on top of the kickstand where it contacts the frame. It fits into a notch to keep the bike from falling if pushed from behind or in front. I cut about 1/4 inch of the top of this tab with a die grinder and cut off wheel. It's pretty tough metal, so take your time and be patient. I smoothed it out after the rough cut, and the bike leans to a very stable angle. Have a friend sit on the bike and raise the kickstand with your hand to see the design. Real simple, and the stand will still lock as it should if you take off about 1/4 inch. Good luck. If you have any more questions just ask. I did this just a couple of nights ago after putting it off for months!

I am glad to hear that it can be done on the bike. I lowered it 2 inches frt & back. Now it doesnt fit the HF lift to good. i can put in the wheel chock stand and jack it up with a scissor jack. Thanks for your help.
