Ok, as much as sometimes it annoys me, I do understand sometimes when people are ignorant about their vehicles. However, I usually dont run into the severe cases of ignorant with Harley owners...until today...
I get to work at 0530 every day. Well as im about to walk in, a guy rolls up on a brand new 2010 FXD. This is not a bone stock FXD though. If they make a Willie G part with a skull on it, this bike had it. Didnt get a look at the exhaust, but it was just a tad bit louder than stock, so i assume it was probably S.E.
Well in courtesy as im walking past I say "sweet looking new Dyna there man". His exact quoted answer was, "its not a Dyna, its a Harley Superglide." I honestly think i made my tongue bleed cause i had to bite it hard not to laugh right then...
I attempted to explain it to him that the Dyna series was a series of bikes that Harley made, to include the FXD. When I said FXD, he looked at me and said, they just told me it was the Harley Superglide when i ordered it, not a Dyna or an FXD...He had the attitude of, um duh, I know what im talking about..Of course by this time my tongue is really bleeding, so I just nod my head, say nice bike and walk quickly away.
Oh and did I fail to mention that he still had the sticker on the visor of his brand new 3/4 Harley helmet? If it wasnt 530 in the morning, you would have thought he drove that thing straight from the Harley shop right then and there!
Oh well, im not going to pick on him to bad...maybe....Hopefully since there are close to 6,000 people where i work i wont have to see him...cause i dont know if i could hold back the laughs next time!
That video is great. I know a guy just like that. Bought his bike and the whole outfit the same day, spends more time washing his bike than riding it. Never buys a performance part, only chrome, unless you count a big *** airhorn as performance.
Without guys like this there would be no barely used bikes out there for the rest of us to buy cheap.
