carb swap ?
anyone do the conversion on an 06 dyna yet? im bored with my efi, miss the tuneing and tinkering with carbs and not to mention the better engine sounds.
thinking of letting the dealer do it, or do you think its not a big deal to do your self?

I will be doing it on my 09 but it is on the back burner right now. It appears to be something that is pretty simple and straight forward. The best and most cost effective way I have come up with is to use the Thunderheart stand alone ignition, S&S Super E carb kit for a twin cam, bung adapter for the tank, petcock, throttle cables. For the thunderheart to work all it needs is the crank position sensor, positive, negative and tie into the coil.

i got a qutoe from the dealer for 3000 dollars!!
theres a vid. o you tube that shows an 07-08 flhr that had the conversion done and it sounds awsome!!!

my bike has no more warr. but corp. harley said they didnt recomend it, but it could be done
guy at the counter said with all parts and labor its 3000!!!!!!!! and they done a bunch since 07!!

just got an e-mail from chris at daytona twin-tech and he said they have a module just for this purpose. its only 200.00! he sent me a pdf.file on the box and it looks pretty simple plug and play kind of.tcfi III. so im pretty sure ill go this route, after more studying.
in the e-mail he also said he can assemble a kit for me with carb i think!

If you post your TTS tuner for sale, I think there are a few guys who would probably jump on it ... (post over in the classified ads section of the forum and mention it on your thread here) ....
Would help free up some cash for your carb conversion project ....
