My '02 FXD has a stock, top mounted headlight in a scalloped casing and i want to put on a large, bottom mounted bullet headlight. I've seen plenty of other bikes here that have done that and I was wondering how difficult it is to wire the new light, clean up the original wiring and housing and what parts are needed besides a mounting block? here is the light i am thinking about getting. Thanks for your help http://www.easy-motorcycle.com/gloss...ley-p-276.html
Did this on Mikes dyna, wiring is simple man same wires just cut, solder and good to go
it is tuff to see with all the black powder work, i cut and shaved the top, then powdered it to blend it in, lower tree drilled and tapped dead center. used a mill to cup up a headlight block with 2 mount points, and bolted it all on
I did this on my 04. Not bad at all. Remove the eyebrow and cut the wires. Solder to new light. I tapped a hole in my lower tree and mounted the headlight. To clean up the top tree I bought a piece from Headwinds which also allowed me to install the dummy lights there. All in all it came out clean. Not as custom as some others but clean.

I had to find a new mount as the one that came with it didn't fit my bike. I tried a few and finally found one meant for a Springer to fit an 04 front end. I still have the old ones if anyone needs one.
