I bought this one. Now don't laugh too hard but it really is a strong part and yes it came all the way from Hong Kong. Had crazy asian markings all over the box and everything. Took two weeks to show up but it works perfect and was the cheapest one on ebay. So I rolled the dice and lucked out.

A good affordable GPS is this Garmin nuvi 255W. I bought the Garmin 855w because it had a built in MP3 player but the 255w will do everything you need.

A good mount is this one made by RAM. It's what I use and it works great. I use RAM for all my mounts on the boat too so I knew RAM made a good product.

A good power supply (provided you have a battery tender pig tail hanging from your battery) is this one from Powerlet. Use zip ties to run it up under your tank, zipping it to existing wires. That'll also give you the ability to charge cell phones and anything else using a cig lighter charger.

I have a garmin nuvi 360. use for car and bike with no problems. Picked up a Ram mount for it. solid mount! very secure. as for power i ran a wire off the pigtail from battery under console to fork bag and hooked up a cig lighter in bag. works great. I was in a rush so i used what i had in garage at time but if i was to redo it i would look into the powerlet power sources.

Some of them do but are generally pretty good, those designed for motorcycle use are of the better variety. I've never needed a visor.

I run a garmin nuvi like a 535??? It's a great GPS, has trip plan and everything. I use a RAM Mount and put it up by the left controls, it's a short reach to navigate the touch screen while I am driving, and doubles as a speedo. I have it wired using the cigarette lighter plug it came with. I have a 12v outlet mounted right by the neck of the bike, which I ran the wires under the tank, with an in line fuse to the batery. I put the outlet on as one of my first accessories. driving down the road I can charge my ipod, phone. and the outlet has a plastic cover so when it rains, I close it off, and no wet.

gps is only for long trips, It looks like A$$ on the dyna.

I have a Garmin Zumo 550. Mounted it using the powerlet handlebar power supply with integrated ram mount. Turn a wing nut, pull the cord from the power supply and no GPS. Can take it on or off in 10 seconds. Doesn't vibrate or come lose at all on the trip (over 4k since installation, including a 2,300 mile trip from TN to Key West and back where it was mounted every day).

I really enjoy the buit in MP3 and the bluetooth function. Have it mated to a Scala Cardo Q2 so I can listen to music and directions from B******* Betty while cruising. (Although with the scala I only get 5 hours from a charge).

To pass on some experience...if someone else wants to go this route they changed the mount on the 660 and the new 665 (i think that is the new model number). So the powerlet kit for the Zumo's don't work for this.

Here is a picture of it mounted and dismounted. Notice the black powerlet on the left side of my left riser. That is all that is left on the bike after taking the GPS off.

I have a Garmin nuvi 760 in the car ... I've looked at the ram mounts for my FXDF, but not sure what to do about the power. I don't see where the ram mount comes with any wiring. I can hook it up if I have the wires. Am I missing something on the ram mount site, or does it come with the wiring?
