I have a 2007 Low Rider with SE street legal mufflers, SE air cleaner and the ECM download. The bike normally runs great but the heat from the engine is pretty bad and I get surges on deceleration that vibrates through the handle bars. I have read in some of these threads the a fuel manager will help both problems. Does anyone have a recommendation and also where the hell would you put the Power Commander? There is really no room under the seat.
I had similar issues on my Heritage. I posted a detailed write-up about the XiED in the Softail section. You should be able to find it with a quick search.
For me the XiED was the best solution. Worth a look.
Absolutely give the Xieds a shot. They will do nothing but slightly enrich your AFR and that should provide a cooler running engine. it did for my '09 FXD with SE A/C and Muffler upgrades. The down load keeps that 14,7 AFR to meet the federally mandated emission standard.
$100 for the Xieds are a good investment. You may ask around and find someone who had them and later switched to a PC or other fuel control system and will sell them to you cheap.
There is very little that can go wrong with them and they don't wear out .
