I have a 2011 Superglide Custom. I am going to bore the cylinders and install the 103 pistons. What is a safe compression ratio to run on a bike I will be riding all the time? I am also going to install exhaust big sucker intake and tw6-6 cams. I have been told 10.5 to 1 that seems high to me. So here I am asking you, I use this term loosely, gentlemen. Any advice will be very appreciated and thanks in advance. Oh yeah I am looking for tons of low end torque no interested in turning my engine over about 4800rpm.
The tw6 cams prefer 10.2:1 compression. That is the sweet spot. Bob Wood told me himself.
If you research it, around 10:1 is a good compromise between power and rideability. When you start pushing it higher is when you'll make more power but lose reliability. also, be safe and get compression releases installed. Your starter will love you for it.
