I am thinking about buying this FXDL. She is 2001 with just over 7k miles on the clock. Should I be concerned about the additional rake? What else should I be looking out for?
Thanks for your help
You might want to do a little more research on that motor if it's a TC 88. I'm not sure what year HD started using them but, there was a lot of problems with the early TC 88's eating the cam chains at about the 25-35,000 mile range.
That is raked out pretty far. Will not be very fun to ride around town. The TC88 in that will be fine but I would keep looking for one not modified like that. There should be lots of Dynas on the market.
Not sure, but I believe the TC88A showed up in the dyna power train in 1999. Strong motor. I believe that the cam chain tensioner issue was corrected the following year. You may be able to change it to gear drive if that's a concern.
As far as the stretched out rake; if it was me I'd spend my money elsewhere. Looks like lots of potential to be digging huge chunks of asphalt with your teeth. But that's just me...
