I am wondering what parts I would need exactly to change an 07 street bob with forward controls back to the stock mid controls. The dealer says they don't make a kit for this so I need to buy the parts individually, so I am wondering what are the parts I need exactly? and How difficult of a job is this to do?Thanks
Plenty of dudes buy their Dyna and convert to forwards. Why don't you talk to the sales dept at your dealer and let them know you're interested in doing the opposite. Maybe they can set you up with a customer and give you both a break on the labor costs since they'll be swapping from one bike to another.
Two buddies of mine did that with their handlebars -- Super Glide swapped with a Street Bob. One already owned the Super Glide and he wanted mini-apes so they swapped and dealer cut them a break.
Can I ask why you want to go back to mid's. You'll need to have the Primary removed so you can have the shift bar installed that runs through it. I installed the forwards on my bike and then modified the mids so I could still use them as an alternative place to put my feet while riding long trips. Check them out. https://www.hdforums.com/forum/membe...3185-sb10.html

In any given week, there are complete sets of take-offs on ebay from people converting from mid to forward controls. There are a couple sets on ebay right now. You'll need the foot peg mounts, shifter-shaft/arm assy. Brake pedal/arm assy (usually still attached to the right peg mount). Possibly a new shift lever, if the one you have on your forwards doesn't fit.
Does your outer primary cover have a hole (possibly with a plug in it) where the mid-control shifter shaft would normally extend out? If there is no hole in your outer primary cover (meaning someone replaced the original cover with a new one) you'll have to buy a new cover.

Thats a good idea I might have to hit up the dealer tomorrow. Thanks
Im only 5'8 and they just didn't feel right. I'm just a little too short, I can touch them but its a stretch.
I am 5'7", so I know how you feel, I have been pondering getting these to bring the forwards closer to me. This would be a whole lot cheaper then having to get you primary cover pulled to get the shaft installed through it.
I have everything in my garage except the shifter shaft and shifter off of an 09 street bob. If you want it let me know. Pulling the primary isn't that bad of a job either.
