I soaked the wrap instead of spraying it.
You definitely want it wet so it'll be easier to wrap.
If you use hose clamps get the ones that are all stainless steel, including the screw.
Once the wrap dries, spray it with the header wrap paint stuff.
It'll hold up longer, or at least look better longer.
I've always soaked them, as Skip says,
whether V8 or V Twin:

Yeah, spray with the appropriate sealant, get mine from ThermoTec, same as the wrap.

And the clamps, I like the T Bar type:

one wrap at the start and band it, or radiator hose clamp,
the cover about half of the wrap each time,
at the end, do two wraps on top of each other, and clamp or band again.

shooter, I never strap at the beginning, V8 or Vtwin.

Just wrap it good and tight.

Picture below shows technique I use, with gloves and long sleeves.

Pic shows the death grip with both hands, twist tight with left,
and every three or four wraps twist tight again with right, then left.
Really stretch it.

I will snap some pictures in the morning. It is actually not as bad as one would think. My header wrap is doing just fine. Not fraying or anything. I soaked it as well, more than anything it helps to keep the fiberglass dust down.

I like the looks of your bike. I am not a huge chrome fan, basically because I like to ride more than I like to clean and header tape fit the bill of no chrome PLUS it kept the heat from building to bad. It still gets hot sometimes at stoplights in 100 degree heat, but there is not much you can do about that I don't think.

Forgive the mispells, I put a few away after the ride tonight.
