before i have issues: Battery disconnect question?
Hello all,
I recently had my 2007 super glide custom crated and shipped to hawaii. I was told they would disconnect the battery and drain the tank of gas for transport on the ship. My question is (and ive tried to read a few post) that when I get there and receive the crate, do yall foresee any problems with me un-crating the bike and then putting gas in and it starting up.
Ive read a few people having problems with their fobs and security systems. I do have the HD security system FOB, but am not the original owner, so if i have to enter a code i will be in trouble. (not to much i read a post where someone explained how to pull up the code that is used, but if someone wants to repost their way id appreciate it). I will not get the bike till oct 14 so theres time to figure this out. thanks as always in advance for yall help.
Should not have any troubles. I take the battery out every winter for storage for at least 6 months without any issues with the security system. If I were you I would change the code as soon as possible just in case. The procedure is in your owners manual or you can get instructions from a dealer. Of course, you may need the old code, in which case I hope you can get the code from the previous owner or hope Harley has a way.

I don't think there is a need to know the old code. As long as you have the fob and key, just follow the owner's manual to reset the code. I did this with my own 2007 FXD. Unfortunately, or maybe better said, fortunately, I haven't had to test my new code to see if it works. I know now to keep a fresh battery in the fob!
