Well, that was why I suggested the security light flashed to warn you if you rode outside the range of your fob. As it is there is simply nothing to tell you this.

Answer: Easy. I keep my key on my dresser, far from the garage.
100% Sometimes the easiest solutions are the best.

Also, keep the override code/instructions in your wallet.

A bike that depends on *continuously* receiving a signal from a battery-powered pocket fob, just to keep the engine running? I can't even begin to list all the ways that this would fail and be a total disaster.

Put a lock on the rear rotor is more effective in keeping the bike from being stolen and it doesn't cost nearly as much as that security system. If the alarm could send you a text alert or something it would be a little more effective but nothing beats a big old padlock imho.

The security system actually reduces my motorcycle insurance, so i save a few bucks. A real thief can get anything they want if they want it bad enough...just stroll into most dealer showrooms...

For the less sophisticated thief, the bike will not start for him when wheeled away.

Agree'd. I changed my mind after reading the post where it might have cut off after passing a semi. No need to add danger into the mix.

I do like having one for the convenience of getting off the bike and not fooling with the key.

Install the siren from Radio Shack. 6 bucks and now you have some noise.

My wife's cage has keyless ignition and the key light will flash at you once your out of range of the fob the key light flashes at you, only a few feet. Done it more than once when I drop her at the curb then go find a place to park.

I hook the fob on my belt with a carabiner. Works fine for me.

The HD security system's purpose is to simply disable your ignition. If you keep the key on the fob ring you won't have to blame anyone. My ignition and forks get locked (w/ the key) when leaving my bike, so I can't leave w/o the key/fob. An HD option I've purchased is a siren w/ pager.

Being careful where you park it, gives you more security than any alarm system.

Example: Movie theater parking lot. No windows and a two hour winidow for the thief that saw you walking into the theater.

Unless I'm missing something, I don't see what the problem is. Just keep the FOB on the same ring as the key. Pretty simple if you ask me.
