I'd say it's time to start looking under the bike, fender, frame, etc. etc. There must be some scrape marks somewhere. Then you at least know "whats" hitting or scraping. Then you can start to make some educated changes. I would definitely NOT ride if things are scraping while riding straight down the road.
You definitely need to look under that bike, you could be tearing off your drain plugs or something serious. If you can't get a good look yourself find someone who can. If nothing else use a mirror and a flashlight, you should at least be able to tell where it's hitting. If nothing jumps out at you from underneath, one of the other posters might be right about the tire hitting the fender. Not easy to look up in there sometimes ... do you know anyone with a lift?
What size tires you running? Stock size? Bigger, smaller?
Would after market shocks and springs be the answer if they don't raise you up any higher?
Do you just, maybe, need to bolster the front forks instead of both front and rear, or rear only? If it's bottoming on the frame, do the rear springs/shocks even react to the front forks hitting the 'bump' before it hits the frame BETWEEN the wheels?
Just a thought here, ajust the rear shocks tightest point ( longest nub ) than check the rear motor mount, trans and swingarm to see if anything is loose or broke. if all looks good down there, new shockit will be also change the front fork oil. hope you find the gremlin.........
Another thing to look at is the belt guard directly below the fender. When the shocks bottom out they will also cause the fender to hit the belt guard. On my 02 and 05 Dyna's there is, for lack of a bettter term, "skid bar" on the right frame under the transmission. This is supposed to to protect the trans pan. When two up riding set your shocks to a higher pre load, new shocks would help immensely.
if it only scrapes when you go over speed bumps or the such then it may be normal. The clearance on these bikes isn't a lot so you should ease yourself over bumps like this or it will scrape.
