Post 6" to 8" Drag Bar question

My Street Bob has stock OEM mini apes. They are fairly comfortable to me but I do have them rotated forward just a bit due to my long arms and being 6' 2". I am thinking of going drag bars with 6" or 8" rise. I love the drag bar look but I don't know anyone that has them so I can sit and try the fit. I am wondering if anyone has gone from OEM mini apes to high drag bars and can comment on the (if any) reach change. Did it make you sit forward much ?
I would surmise even with 8" rise drags they are still a bit lower than OEM mini apes ? I do have forward controls.
Appreciate any and all info about height and reach change you experienced.
Also would love to see some side profile pics of the drag bars with the front wheel facing straight so I can see the pullback and rise.

Not sure about on the street bob, but I had to put 2 inch riser extensions on my fat bob because the drag bars were just too low. I'm 6'2'' as well and it was really tweaking my shoulders, but now they're just perfect.

Thanks for the reply, I looked at your album and it gave a great profile shot of the bars. Your 2" extension gives the same effect as a 6" to 8" riser.
I can see that the pullback is about the same but it will be a lower position.
Do you still sit straight up with this setup or do you lean forward any?

Your bike is a good comparison, other than the larger front tire, bigger tank, and a few different lights and fenders it is the same bike as the Street Bob unless you bought the CVO 110 model and even then it would still be much the same dimensions.

Love that chop. Tank up high, with extended springer front. Used to see a lot of those back in the 70's. A lot guys back then were even just putting in 6" to 8" extended front fork tubes with no rake, for a cheap Dennis Hopper bike look. Don't see much of the extended tube thing anymore.

There was a post recently....that had a milled riser for SB..2" to 4" and I think the guy would custom make any length.

Many differetn variables come into play as to whether you will lean forward or not...arm reach, torso height, seat...etc... I have street slammers and they work perfect for me. straight rise put too much pressure on my middle back. If you can, go sit on a fatbob or try to find a night train at a Harley dealer. this will give you some indication of fit.

Loner Industries makes 1", 2", 4" & 6" risers for the 09+ SB. Does good work, I have the 2" risers on mine. If you do a search on the forum you can find his contact information.

Thanks to all of you for the input. I went down to the Harley shop today since I had to order a part anyhow. I sat on one Fat Bob and one Street Bob both had same risers and same drag bars. The risers look to be at least 6" and they came straight up no pullbacks. The reach felt fine, I definitely would want straight risers. But the width of the drag bars was much narrower than my Mini Apes and I could feel it. I will definitely need to find some 31" wide drag bars.
