I have a new black '04 Low Rider tank. I bought for my Project Street Bob. Painter said he would rather fix the dented stock tank.
PM me if you want to get started on your own project.
can be done and not too difficult, just $ consuming. All dyna tanks for 04 and later should fit, there are 3 sizes total including yours. A bit of rewire is needed for the lamps and fuel gauge. you need to remove the fuel pump inside the tank and transfer it (if you have FI).
It's going to cost 300-500 in addition to the tank. that seems high - but add up the following
parts:
tank
dash
tank plate
speedo
idiot cluster
fuel gauge
gas cap
gaskets
screws

Reason: 3 sizes not 2
I did a tank swap from an '04 FXDLI to my '05 FXDI ... reused my speedometer with a Street Bob console ... (I think you can use a '10-up Wide Glide console to move the ignition switch) ...
I got the tank for about $250 and including the tank, I spent less than $450 for everything but paint ....
If you do a search of my threads on the Dyna forum, I posted the details about 18 months ago ... think it was March of '09 ... I did a detailed break down of parts I used with P/N ....
