Screamin' Eagle fork oil, or aftermarket springs. Do one at a time, not both at once or you might wind up with a stiffer front end than you want. I used the Progressive Suspension Cruise Control springs in my 98 Wide Glide and I love them.
I lifted the front, pulled the caps and forced a 1.25" spacer on top of spring, stiffened up the ride and handles much better! I used stock metal spacer material I already had, but others have used PVC successfully, glueing pipe inside of hard cap to make it strong.
Does anybody know if Race-Tech has Gold valves, springs, etc. for the new 49mm forks?
There's nothing specifically listed. But I noticed that the fork tubes carry the same part numbers as a V-Rod. External measurements are the same, too.
I ordered parts for a V-Rod from Zanotti's, and they should be here pretty soon. I'll probably get around to installing them in the next few weeks. I'll let you know how it goes.
On that same, have you noticed there are no drains in the fork legs? To change the fluids, you have to remove the fork tubes and turn them upside down. I'm going to drill drain holes while it's all apart.
A Superglide is no sport bike but it can be alot of fun with the right improvements. I installed Works billet shocks, Works dual rate fork springs, fork brace, heavier fork oil and combined these things made a huge improvement. If money were no object I would go with Ohlins forks and shocks.
