Post Where to get Grade 8 bolts

I just put an HD oil cooler on my Dyna and while I was mounting it I noticed the front motor mount (isolator) was looking a little wore out. I have 13,885 miles on the bike and do have some vibration. So I ordered a new mount from Zanetti for $72 bucks. And also since I'm in this area I decided to do the washer shim procedure. Depending on how much difference the new mount has, I have close to a 1/4" of shim are showing on the old mount and then the oil cooler bracket adds another 1/8" so I need to buy some longer mounting bolts. They are 3/8 - 16tpi - 1 1/8" OEM so I figure I need some 1 3/4" long ones. The old shim thread said to use grade 8 bolts, but every hardware store I have been to, all their bolts in 1 3/4" length have about 3/4 to 7/8 of solid shaft (non threaded) on the bolt. This will be pushing it close depending on how many washers the new mounts need. I really don't want any solid shaft on it.
Were do you guys get your bolts at ?

I buy all my hardware from the dealership. I came up dry at the local hardware stores so I decided to try the dealer. Sure enough they have a decent bolt selection. So far so good. I am interested to hear where everyone else gets their specialty fasteners though.

Advance auto parts. The drawers they have in the back have a very good selection if they are stocked...worked there for 3.5 years part time...keeping the hardware neat was a pet project of mine.

Wow love that old Trumpet. Brings back very old memories of when I first got out of the Army and bought a brand new 1972 Bonneville. It was a nice running bike.

By the way it has been so many years, you may wonder what I meant but Trumpet is what the Hog guys used to call Triumphs. There were some nice rigid frame fully chopped Triumphs back in the 70's for guys that could not afford Harleys.

Wow, you consider 35k a small town? Guess size is relative. Out here in rural KS our 7k town is a biggest city in the area. Most towns out here have a couple hundred people.

Ditto on the Ace Hardware as well.

I live in the sticks too, but we do have a Caterpiller parts place nearby. I feel pretty sure they would be about the best quality bolts/hardware you can get.
