12,000 miles into it, have kept it completely stock, getting ready to do a Stage 1. Am leaning towards the Thunderheader, yet not sure which way to go as far as air filter upgrade and powermap(?)/Power Commander? Two factors to keep in mind is that I ride year round here the Portland, Oregon area, so rain is a major factor. Also, concerned about voiding warranty, as at 10k service I had to have a rear wheel bearing and a motor mount replaced under warranty. Still have a few months left, and want to make sure dealer can do a thorough inspection at 15k and fix anything needed under the HD warranty. Thanks!
If you are satisfied with a milder sound, you may consider Rush mufflers on your stock head pipe and even change baffles (Fuel Moto ask for Jamie). If you want loud, go with TH or D&D.
Air Filter: AN Big Sucker or SE Air Filter both with stock air cleaner cover.
Fuel Managment: PCV from Fuel Moto or Thundermax Autotune.
From: Back in the Good Ole USA. South Carolina to be exact.
I've head good and bad things about Thunderheader quality. I have a Fat Cat from D&D an I like it. Don't waste your time or money on Rush Slip ons. They will sound like crap on your Fat Bob.
I think the Johnson Engine Technolgy Air Stack is great.

LOVE my thunderheader. Read many complain about the finish on them from the factory...I lucked out and found mine used with a nice ceramic coating on it.
If it were me, I'd just look for a nice used TH or Fatcat depending on the look your after and buy one. Either can be wrapped, painted, chromed or coated....and the savings of buying used lets you take that into account.
However, everyone raves about the finish quality of the D&D so that would take care of any finish issues you may have.
Had a TH on previous bike and loved it. Have a V&H now just to try something different. I like them although "barkier" than The TH. Still think about going back to a TH myself. Don't think a stage 1 upgrade should void anything.
