Super Fat Conversion - Black vs. Polished
Just got word that my wheels have shipped so here is what I'm doing. 2010 FXDC, vivid black as seen below, I have Fat Bob trees, fork sliders, second disc & caliper, OEM wide glide bars with Fat Boy Lo risers and the wheels that just shipped are the HD chrome stinger wheels, 18 x 6 in back and 18 x 3.5 up front. Assuming it will fit I plan to fit a 200 ME880 or a 180 if not. The only dilemma is to get the FB trees mirror polished, chromed ($45 & $65 each respectively) or powder coat them black. I was planning to polish them then thought its only $20 more to chrome them but I do like the contrast black and chrome gives. The FB sliders will be staying black and I'm getting the front fender chromed so the bottom half will have a nice contrast and I'm leaving the Fat Boy risers chrome so I'm thinking the top would look good with a contrast as well. Top to bottom would be black grips and switches, chrome bars, chrome risers, black trees, chrome tubes, black sliders with chrome dust boots, chrome fender and wheel with standard black brakes and the vivid black rotors.
