Most post on the Short Shots causing a loss of power are because there is not enough back pressure with the stock baffles. The quiet baffles actually help increase the back pressure. Now cutting the baffles in half would reduce back pressure more like drag pipes. Which are good if you run your bike at WOT. If you have a stock or stage 1 set up on your bike I doubt you are losing 10-15 hp on pipes alone. I went from stock pipes to cycle shack slip on and the SOTP felt improved. then I switched to the V&H SS w/quiet baffles and it was about the same as the slip ons.
