Just finished my small Backrest pad for my Fatbob. This was really hard to make but despite three attemps at it I got there in the end. The main problem being it has to be as smooth as possible at the back for the fit on the upright. Airbrushed it a little darker than I would have like but in the sunlight the colour pops and at the end of the day it works with the newly mounted pillion seat which looks neat. The colour will fade with time.
I got the docking kit and chrome short upright bar on order with a mounting plate with hidden fasteners to make it look clean from behind. Then I just need the Detachable side plates to mount it all on. I think looking at these pics it's going to look really good.
Did you do the seats as well? ... that looks really nice. I have toyed with the idea of going natural leather, for the aspect of tooling it.... hmmm....

Yes I did both seats and my roll bags. Until I made my solo seat I never tried this sort of thing apart from airbrushing. Got tips on the internet and ripped into a perfectly good seat to try it out with pretty basic tools. I made the pillion from scratch. The tooling is straightforward it's a case of prep work first albeit I'm learning all the time with each piece I do. The hardest part is wet moulding the leather to the shape. Next year I plan on making some stuff to sell.
Thanks all. Really looking forward to installing all the bits to make it work. Having to do everything a little at a time.
The only other mods I will hopefully do over winter will beto change my upper Rockers for Black wrinkle ones plus add some slip-ons.
