My apologies for posting another members bike (OutlawDyna). But I've been going back and forth on whether to get some mini apes or drag bars this winter for my own fxdc. Well...the time has come and I wanna make a purchase. Problem is, the bars I'm interested in, I can't figure out the specs on. So I posted another members bike to get some feedback on the bars I'm interested in.
Just wanted some feedback on a few things please:
1. Will I need new cables for my 2010 fxdc if I put these bars on?
2. Do you think those are the 6" or 8" ones? Any idea who the mfr might be?
3. And perhaps most importantly, what can anyone tell me about the riders comfort with these bars? There's a pic of the rider on his bike, but I didn't want to post a pic of him on it without his approval. Looks comfy though. Ergo's look good. But I've never felt them. Can you go just as long with these, as the stock bars?
T-bars are very comfortable if you get the ones that fit you. I would say outlaws are 8 or 9 inch but different brands have different pull back.
I wanted alot of pull back so I went with the Carlini 9 inch super sweeps. I was able to use stock clutch cable, stock brake cable (with some reworking), but I did go plus 2 on the throttle and idle cables. Probally could have made them work but they were cheap and easy to replace plus look a little better than the stock ones.
And to the others: A PM was sent. But I noticed that he hasn't logged onto the site for a little bit, and thought I'd ask the question here since I'm off work today and looking to make some purchases sooner than later if possible.
Funny you guys should mention that. I just finished bottling my home brewed American Pale Ale before checking back in here to see the replies. Another 3 weeks and she'll be ready to drink.
Sorry bud. I haven't been on in awhile. Been working, Kid's, GF and RIDIN LOL. I hope my PM's answered your questions. Your last PM sent I didn't reply to sorry. I'm 6ft and with the bars I have and forward controls the bike is very comfy.
Also thanks for the kind words about my bike. It's been fun working on it and riding it of course. Wait till you seen the upgrade's and the NEW custom bike we are building.
