Default Tach install question

I am thinking of pickup up a tach for my 11 wg. It says simple 3 wire install. 1 Ground, 1 power, and 1 for the negative coil wire. Any ideas where that wire would be.

I would call dakota to verify.

pix below are good if yours is the same as my 006 Dyna

gray/blue is the ion sense - I do believe you would pickup there.

2nd picture is the back of the coil 006 FXD - red arrow is the wire I use for signal.

when you call ask about GMR pickup
this allows you to pickup signal without cutting wire.

keep us updated..........

I don't think the ion sense wire is what I'd use - that's the anti-knock circuit and its very sensitive, don't want to mess with that and have your ignition timing messed with.

Either of the coil wires (front or rear) sound like they should do you - they are negative (ground) pulsed connections for the coil.
