Default Ness Fairing Mounting... Help

OK so a while back i bought a ness 1/4 fairing for my '05 FXDXI because I love the look of em, the ones Ive seen on this forum have pushed me right over the edge. I set it aside for a while because i wasnt ready for it yet, well now i am...
Only thing is i cant decide how to mount it. The "bracket" (if you can call it that) that came from ness, didnt wrap around and fit my fork like it should have. From the looks of it, the only way i can think to do it is with the fork mounted marker mounts, drill a hole in the fairing and bolt it on. Ive though about using the ones that go on the lower tree clamp, and getting a set that actually wrap around the fork. But I dont see bolts on some of the ones on this forum, so whats the trick guys?
Also, correct me if im wrong but dosent the fairing on the V-rod mount with like a head lamp bucket, that kind of wraparound the back of the headlamp and give a nice surface for mounting? Would this work for mine?
Any help is much appreciated.

I like the idea of using turn sig mounts for a nice rigid fit. I have not installed one myself but if I was in your shoes thats how I would do it. Good luck

I used HD quick detach brackets on mine...with that being said, I don't think a single person on this forum has attached there's the same way, so there's a bunch of different options out there...just gotta get creative.

for the money Ness charges for them, it's total bullshit that you still have to fab up your own mounts..pretty douche move on their part. The quick clamps from harley are the best way to mount it I've found. The turn sig brackets are kinds high and far back. Even with that most guys still have to trim/modify the lower part of the fairing to clear the lower tree.

Default Mounting options

I used the bracket that came with the fairing, drilled out one end a little bigger and used HD detachable windshield clamps, worked like a charm and very stable.

This is the second thread you came into bashing these fairings. Its apparent you dislike them, yet you proceed to click on threads that are obviously about them. And for what? Trying to get your post count up? In fact, im pretty sure you used the same "butt ugly" description too....what a winner...

See that's whats good about having a toy like a Harley, you can do pretty much anything to it that YOU want because YOU like it, doesn't much matter what anyone else thinks. Its not a show bike so I'm not looking to appeal to the most people I can in order to gain the praise of the majority. For every one that thinks they're "butt ugly" there is another who already has one on their bike. So thanks for the input, but if ya come across a good way to mount one, let me know.

What handlebar/riser setup do you have? If you have tall risers or t bars, check out venturaoutfit's mount. Google "custom shortened thunderheader" and click on the result that is on hdforums, and youll see one of the sickest dynas on the site! He's got some great pics of how he mounted his fairing. I use the hd quick disco's, but then again im running the hd 1/4 fairing, not the ness...
