After having some issues getting my bike to start, I finally got it out for about 20 minutes. This was just a quick test ride to try out my new bars and make sure everything is working ok since it's about 40 degrees out. The bars feel great. This was my first time riding a bike with anything taller than the stock mini apes and I have to say that so far I really like them. The height and pull back seems to be just right and is really comfortable. When I first started off, I was getting a lot of vibration in the bars but after about 10 minutes and hitting the freeway at about 70 everything seemed to smooth out and it felt good the rest of the time. I was also curious if my Dyno tuned PCIII map would be ok with the switch from the SE air cleaner to the RSD one since the RSD pulls air from the front of the filter as well as the sides, but so far no issues and the bike ran great over all. Hopefully we get some warmer weather in March and April so I can ride a few times. I'm heading to Afghanistan in May and will miss the whole riding season this year.
I know what you mean about the northern US and crappy weather. I was stationed in Minot, North Dakota for a bit and it was horrible. I'm US Air Force though, just stationed in the UK.
You should be ok with the filter. I was riding yesterday without a jacket, it was a nice day here in sunny FL.
I bet it was! I was stationed at Edwards AFB in CA for a while and it was nice being able to ride year round. I'm hoping to get somewhere warm when I head back to the States in a couple years.
Thanks for reminding me. I was waiting for the bike to cool off and got side tracked. It wasn't to bad in my parts though, I don't think they've salted in a few days.
