engine light on
Hi there
I have a 2000 FXDX that we have just fitted an S&S T111 engine in (carburettored).

Today I started it up for the first time.
However the engine light is doing strange things.
(The light is the word ENGINE in red in the tacho.)
Sometimes it goes off and then after a while it comes back on.
Sometimes (one time?) it will even go back off again.
I have only started the engine about 5 times but I am not game to let it run too long with the engine light on.
The ECM is the S&S IST unit that comes with the engine.

OK this is what happens
- Turn on ignition
- ENGINE lights in red
- ENGINE light goes out
- ENGINE light comes on again and then goes off
If I start the bike it will run for about half a minute and then it seems to lose power and the ENGINE light comes on again.
I tried the diagnostic trouble codes
1- Turn Ignition switch to OFF & Run/Stop switch is to Run.
2- Push odometer reset button in & hold.
3- Turn ignition switch to Ignition and release odometer reset button.
The odometer shows d01CLr (presumably meaning diagnostic #1 clear)
press odometer reset button - now shows d02SEt (does that mean that diagnostic #2 is set?)
pressing the odometer reset button then displays d03CLr, d04CLr, d05CLr, d06CLr, d07CLr, d08CLr, d09CLr
the next press after that displays CAL 10 (whatever that means)
pressing it again starts the sequence again
