On some models not originally equipped with mid-controls, like the FXDWG, the exhaust system may block the right-side mid-control mounting pad, which is one of the mounting points for the footboards.

There are several of us who have gone that route ... and as I am aware, all are very satisfied ....
A couple of differences are that I think the Softail floorboards are slightly lower ... I've heard the comment that the Wyatt Gattling floorboards raise your feet up a little .... [BTW - the Wyatt Gattling are almost identical to the old FXDP Dyna Police floorboards that were discontinued after 2004 ... just modified slightly to fit the newer bikes ....]
Also, the Softail floorboards are (or can be made to fit) a little further forward than the Wyatt Gattling/FXDP boards ....
What I really like about mine is that they look like they belong on the bike ... not a 'solution' you came up with to mount on the peg .... (Although, I feel the same way about the Wyatt Gattling/FXDP, too ... i.e. look like they belong ....)

I've had mine for about 4 years now ... work like a champ ....
