I have a 2011 Super Glide and am trying to determine the best luggage option for day trips or maybe an overnight. I really don't want to put on a permanent sissy bar yet or relocate the turn signal lights to have a removable sissy bar or put on a luggage rack (cost$$$).
I have the two up seat that came with the bike. Does anybody have any options for luggage without putting on these accessories?
Bungee cords go a long way, if your ridings solo. Willie and max make descent bags for how much they cost, best bang for your buck, and don't bother with the guards waste of money if you ask me. Just make sure nothing like straps are hanging down cut or tie them up. It's fairly easy to strap a couple rolls to your forks as well using Bungees.
Thanks for the input. How well does it work to use a flat style Tbag or similar to secure behind on the passenger seat strap without a sissybar attached or use a strap by running under the seat? I am kind of getting back into riding again and don't have much experience with luggage.
That might work I've always had saddle bags for things that can't be strapped directly to the bike. if you get bungees with coated ends you can hook to the turn signal arms and the fender or shock mount. I would use rolls as much as possible too. and when I plan overnighters I usually have a tent strapped to the back with sleeping bags, its easy to roll up a blanket and strap to the forks and you could prolly roll up some of your clothes the same way. as opposed to getting a t bag find a comfortable back pack more versatile you can wear it or pack it and strap it to the rear
Bberck: I looked at the classifieds, is it the sissy bar mounting system you have or is there another system you are referring too? I have a 2011 superglide custom and the dealer told me that the only way to put on a quick disconnect system is to relocate the turn signals. Thanks for your help.

Yes its the detachable sideplates, sissy bar, pad , and rack.
Dealer is right only in the since that the kit is called a reloaction kit. It just moves the signals out about a inch so the mounting hardware can go on.
All you need to mount the system is this

Its a very easy install.
Here is a picture of what the signals look like. You can see it just moves them out a little for the mounting hardware.
