Just found this sweet app and connector that uses you ipod touch or iphone to REPLACE your speedo. Being a Dyna owner, I am always on the lookout for something to replace my speedo. This is something like $250 though, maybe the price will come down?

That app looks like the answer to a question nobody asked. Just to play devil's advocate...
It says you can't use it in bad weather, and when I had an Iphone it was impossible to see in direct sunlight, particularly with sunglasses. So it's mainly for nights with no rain? I noticed that although the company recommends RAM mounts, the buyer has to supply their own. Why would they sell you a speedo and no mount? And I'm curious if the phone warranty would cover any problems after using this piece of gear. Apple is notorious about not wanting anything non-apple used. Do you have to jailbreak your phone first?

It's a novelty item only IMHO. Cool but impractical. More for the "poser" crowd. I use an iPhone everyday and would be skeptical of that connector holding up to the stress of vibration and connects/disconnects each day.
Lmao, I have an android app called speedfinder that does the same. Tracks odo, 1/4mi, and other various info. I use it daily in my old truck with no speedo, but never woulda thought using it on the bike... that could be a mess..
