Default Custom seat & new handlebars installed. [pics]

Thanks to the forum for explaining to me in another thread about rise and pullback on handlebars. Reading the links and watching the video helped a lot.

I was not too happy with the stock mini apes as I felt like I was always "reaching" for them. I had adjusted them a few times, but to me they just did not seem right.

So, I purchased a set of drag bars for the bike. I had a hard time choosing the bars but narrowed it down to two choices. I got the Wild 1 WO501 drag bar. The bars put my hands lower and the grips came in a bit closer to me. My second choice was the Wild 1 WO560 (Low Profile Drag Bars). This model has another 3.5 inches of pull back than the 501's. I will ride with the 501's for a while and see how I like them.

One thing I noticed is the handlebars are narrower and now I don't feel like I have the visibility in the mirrors that I had with the stock bars. I don't think this will be too much trouble as the new mirrors I am ordering have a stem that is two inches longer than the stock ones. I will be getting a set of chrome controls next.

As for the seat, I purchased a used stock seat. I took it to a local body shop (with interior guy out back) and talked with the owner. I have had automobile body and paint work done at this shop and trust the owner and his creative vision. We chose a covering and talked about some stitching detail but that was about it. I picked it up today and absolutely love it. The seat was lowered some at my request as well. It is maybe an inch or a bit more lower, but it makes a world of difference. Lowering the seat also moved me forward a little bit which helps too.

Here are the pictures.

Sweet looking ride, if you had matching saddlebags that would complete the look.

Looks great. I had street slammers on my bob befre my Z Bars... I loved the way they felt and rode. In fac I liked em so much hat I can't bring mself to sell them and he braided cables with em. I just stuck them in a box up stairs incase I ever wanna switch back. I really like the seat, but as said above... time for some brown bags

Great looking seats. I swapped out my bars for Z type drags.

I've got the 560s on my Street Bob and I love them. I was never comfortable with the 12" apes that were on the bike when I bought it used.
I don't care for brown seats, but yours looks friggin awesome. They did a fantastic job with the stitching.

Thanks for the kind words everyone.

The first thing I thought after mounting the seat was it would be cool if the bags matched. We'll see what happens.

blkdimon8 - your handlebars are really cool.

QehQeh - We will see how the 501's work out. The 560's might still be an option. I have to give these a shot on a bit of a longer ride.
