Default Turn signals as tailight.

I noticed that the bobbed fender kit HD sells comes with a unit to convert the rear signal lights into brake/tailights.

Obviously I need new bulbs and red lenses. Does HD sell the electronic unit to do this or is this something I could DIY?

I think it comes with the turn signals, red lenses, and the STT module. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Default Turn sig.

Part # 69462-06A is for the kit. This is all you need. I installed this on my 09 Fatbob a couple years ago they work good. The new acc. catalog is a little vague on listing's, so I checked in my garage at the package and that should be the # List price is 60 bucks, check the dealers on line like Chicago HD, 20% off. If you need any more help let me know.

It makes you wonder why they pick and choose which bikes to put these on at the factory. My 09 came from the factory with it. Maybe the dealer has to order it like that, IDK.

I was just looking at the kit and sounds like Im out of luck or at least if I want them to be legal.

Fits '02-'03 XL, '02-later DynaŽ (except FXDXT and '09-later FXDB and FXDWG) and '02-later SoftailŽ (except FXS, FXSTD/I) models with stock bullet-style turn signals. (NOTE: Not intended for use on '04-later FLHX, FLHRS, FLTR or FLHTCSE models, '05-later FLSTN models or models equipped with Bullet Turn Signal Bar Kit P/N 68615-04 or 68617-04. If installed on these models, the system will function properly but will not meet the DOT minimum separation requirements for a red tail light to red turn signal.)

Or am I just not reading it right?

If you've got a Street Bob you should be good. It's those equipped with a turn signal bar kit that might not meet DOT min sep requirements.
