Question Anyone using a Oil Cooler on their bike? looking to get one

Hey,

So doing alot of mods to the bike before riding season really hits. (Seattle, WA spring is constant rain)

My friend is willing to sell me his Oil Cooler he bought from Drag Specialties for a 95-11 FXD.

Any pros and cons anyone can share would be much appreciated. Thanks!!

I've run oil coolers on my last 4 bikes.

Jagg 6 row on two of em, Harley brand on one of em, and Jagg 10 row on another.

Can't think of anything negative about them...other than it can clutter the look up a bit.

They definitely help keep the heat down.

I would recommend a cooler with turbulators, like the Jagg.

You need to decide if you want to use a thermostat or not.

Use Jagg coolers on both bikes. I use a leather cover on one when it 50* or below, the other is thermostatic controlled. Controversy will come up like what good are they when you are sitting still in traffic. Trust me they are still shedding oil heat.

Have one on my new Street Glide with a 103. Came from the factory with it, seems to run cooler so far.

I use a lock heart, mounted high on the lower frame supports. chad hooked me up with a jack plate for the cooler to run.. works great! just powder coated it actually not to long ago!

I have a 10 row Jagg sitting with thermostat in my garage waiting to be installed. Just need to fab up a bracket and I am good to go.
