After changing the fork oil I installed fork boots and upper tube covers (between the trees) as many others on this forum have done. Not really trying for the "old school" look necessarily, just trying to tie in the overall blackness of the F-Bob. Was planning to PC the trees black too, but thinking the chrome is a nice accent - will probably leave as is.
Fork boots purchased online at discountcycleparts.com - boots are actually Custom Chrome item #632800. The covers for the upper tubes are 2" ID thin-wall copper pipes I got at a plumbing supply shop; primed inside to ward off any possible negative reaction between dissimilar metals, then sprayed with two coats of appliance epoxy paint - should hold up for a while.

I agree the chrome trees give a nice contrast to the black legs. Looks good.
Just a tip..punch some holes down near the bottom of the boot covers at the rear..lets them breath and also lift them up now and again and clean/check underneath them .
