Got me excited to see what my bike has under the hood now. I did a 103 Stage III kit, MCR heads, and a 50mm throttle body. I have not had it dyno'd yet, but intend to soon.

I did this for a customer and we got 101HP and 108 Torque....once it was run in that is. I recommend 2000 miles minimum before the dyno run.

We used 255 Cams and V&H short shots.

Those are GREAT numbers!

If it's no secret, just what was done? Bore kit make, throttle body size, heads, cams, pipes, air cleaner, et al.....

Those are the numbers that I hope I have, just need to wait for the dyno tune.

Oh, have you smelt that ugly odor of burnt clutch yet! Check out AIM's variable pressure clutch.

If a tuner knows what he is doing, breaking a bike/new build in on a dyno can be done FAR more effeciently and safely on a dyno. He can keep track of the engine's temperature, fuel tables, and timing.

True!

Check out Motoman's method for breaking in engines. If done under heavy accelleration and engine braking, the rings will seat before the first 100 miles. The first 25 to 50 miles are critical for having an engine that makes power to it's full potential. The secret is to keep those rings under constant pressure, either under accelleration or hard engine braking.

The window of opportunity is short. Baby the engine early and it will never be a strong runner.

True and all but have you ever noticed how a Harley loosens up after a coupla thou miles? There is more to it than rings if its on new bores and pistons. Back in the day when we used to dyno as soon as possible we would always re-dyno them after a few thousand miles and then get extra HP and sweeter running, now I just dyno at 2,000 miles, saves money :-)

The kit is just called "103 stage 4" it is in Harleys racing catalog everything is included except the race tunner, heavy breather and exhaust which I had already done when I got the bike last year. The pipes are Vance and Hines Big Shots Staggered.

I just looked in the catalog for this and it includes the Super Tuner:

Screaming Eagle Pro Stage IV kit-103 Cubic Inches (pg 25 option C.)
Here’s a 103 cubic inch racing kit that puts it all together for
you. If your looking to build a fast, track-ready, 103 kit and
want to buy all the components you need to maximize your
results, here’s the kit! T his eliminates the guess work on what
components you should use and what works well together.
We’ve put all the components together including SE performance
heads that provide a great performance upgrade
for a 103ci at a very attractive price. Kit includes our highperformance
/ high-flow Screamin’ E agle
Ž Performance
110+ Heads which include large intake valves at 2.120" diameter
(our biggest ever), high-compression forged aluminum
10.5:1 pistons matched to the 110+ heads, an SE260 cam to
open the valves appropriately, allowing the right balance of
air and fuel to enter, Perfect-Fit Pushrods to accommodate
the higher cam lift, a 58mm E FI throttle body to get that air
flow to the heads, big 3-7/8" diameter highlighted cylinders,
then topping off this kit off with a “must have” Super T uner

to provide the right tuning capabilities. Kit includes gaskets
27516-08B Black. $2,399.95

Fits ’07-later Dyna
Ž, ’07-later SoftailŽ and ’07 T ouring
