Yeah, but people are stupid.

If you don't see a 1/2 ton loud chunk of metal and human being(s) coming at you, you probably won't see anything.

I have heard people say they didn't see the Hummer coming the other way.

Saying "I didn't see" is just code for "I wasn't paying attention."

be carefull with the goop off, I over did it with removing the leftover adhesive on the back fender side reflectors and removed some of the shiney finish. didn't matter cuz its mostly hidden back anyway but still too much goooff really removes anything

DSnoopy/NoSaints1,
Thanks for the tip of using 8 lb fishing line. I'll have to remember that one.

Just a word of caution for all you riders who remove your reflectors, ...
lo-rider - I agree about keeping reflectors on. In my case, I could have said that I "relocated" my reflectors. I removed them for the sissy bar install, but re-installed them in a new place afterwords.

I had to remove mine to install my luggage rack. They gave me new adhesive to reapply but I just can't find a good spot. I used dental floss and Harley cleaner to get the residue off. Heated with a hair dryer first. Heat gun can bubble paint. I used floss as it is less abrasive than fishing line.

I agree about the reflectors keeping you safe. They work so well that I just removed my brake light, turn signals, horn and headlight. Who needs those as long as you have reflectors?

Nah just kidding... I ripped those suckers off and trashed them quicker than Oprah can down a gallon of ice cream.

take a flat head screw driver rap the end with a thick rag /slide the srew driver behind the reflector and they will rip off .go to a parts store and buy some adhesive remover read the can and make sure its safe on paint ,and the adhesive will come off. thats how i did mine on a brand new bike DO NOT USE A HEAT GUN !!!!!!!!

I used fishing line and weed wacker line. Then used WD40 to get the adhesive off. Don't use a heat gun, use a hair dryer if need be.

You probably have some WD40 lying around (or should have). Soak liberally a couple times for 10 minutes or so, they'll come right off. A little dish soap & hose off cleans up the mess.

Pull it off with the reflector off with the fishing line and heat up the left over rubber **** with a hair dryer or heat gun until its soft and then rub and roll it around with your thumb like a big black booger....it will come off...takes some patience.......

I agree, so did I. I removed them from every bike I have ever owned. More govt. mandated stuff the manufacturers are obligated to put on to sell bikes here. Most people leave the reflectors on. If after removing them you feel like you would be safer with them, the salvage yard is full of wrecked bikes with reflectors on them. Cagers who don't look where they are going don't see reflectors.
