Default Removing reflectors

How should I remove the reflectors on the rear fender?
Assume a heat gun, but what is the best technique?
Got them off the front forks but not the rear fender.
I'm afraid of damaging the paint.

Yep, heat gun and a strong thumb and mine came right off. You will have to get some cleaner to finsish it off and get the residue off.

Some people also use fishing line with the heat gun, which seems to work fine.

PS - I just used a hair blow dryer.

Just use Goop Off, buy at Home Depot. A little plastic scraper for leverage and they come right off. You can also use it on that sticker on the front frame..

I used a little Goo Be Gone to soak the adhesive then took 8 pound test fishing line and "sawed " it back and forth behind the reflectors...any residue left I used more Goo Be Gone and it cleaned right up and did not damage the paint.

Big difference between a heat gun and a hair dryer.
Some heat guns can get way to hot.

A hair dryer works just fine.
I used WD40, let soak in, warm up reflector and peel back slowly.

Secret is to take your time.

I used fishing line first to take them off (like flossed them off, kinda), then bug and tar remover for the remaining goop

I just did mine last week when I added a sisy bar bracket. Used zippo fluid and some paper towels. Evaporates quick, but I washed it good when I was done.

I've never tried "Goop Off", but maybe next time.

Just a word of caution for all you riders who remove your reflectors, blackout your bikes, or otherwise try to make them invisible to cagers, remember the most quoted statement following every MC collision: "I didn't see him." So just be aware that you are giving away some of the odds.

Ride safe.
