Has anyone changed risers on a Dyna with the handlebar mount speedo? I would like to use the Drag Specialties 2 1/2" Custom Pullback Risers; however, do not know how much they would affect the angle of the Speedo. The question is: do the risers compensate for the pullback by shifting the angle of the top cap mounting holes.
It would be nice to have the handlebars back just a little. If there are any suggestions, I am all ears!
Thanks for any input or advice. If this needs to go in another section. please inform.
Well,... there has been alot of talk on this topic. I also have an 06 FXDI and I had looked at several different bar options and the one that I finally decided on was to just change up all my cables and lines and bars to the exact setup thats on the 07 Screamin Eagle SuperGlide, but since its gonna be pretty costly its gonna be a few more weeks.
But,.... to answer your question,... it will put the gauge in an odd angle. You can get one of the accutronix T-bar mounts and change up to and 04 Speedo housing and it will work fine and look good as well.
I have put the risers from my brothers Low Rider and the only thing it did was put the speedo. upright but you can still see the speedo. This was done on an '04 FXD. Check in the photo gallery under member name soup48, the lady saiitng on the bike is the '04 Fxd. She's my wife.
I recently put 3.5" straight risers on mine. These risers and the bars rolled forward have actually brought my hands up more than I thought it would. I really like the looks and the speedometer stays at the same angle just sits higher .... creates more of the sitting-in-the-bike feel that I like. The only other option for me would be mini-apes, but measuring things leaves me with the impression that the small gain in height might not be worth the $$$ to swap over. I'm going to add lower shocks in a couple of weeks .... think the lower seat height will put things where I want them.
