What's wrong with an FXR? Post away. You don't even need to own a bike to post, just an opinion.

The reason I even own a HD is because of my dad's 84 FXRS! I really really wanted his bike and he said I could inherit it when he croaks. I am not waiting that long! I really wanted a FXRS but the bank thinks they are worth only about a grand. You ca'nt get a basket case for that! So I bought an 06 FXDBI. Love it! Now my dad wants to solo and strip is FXRS! lol You have the old school superglide w/o there would not be this forum so post away!!

When I joined the forum I had a '91 FXRP, I was kind of disappointed when I didn't find an FXR forum. Then about a year ago the moderators made a FXR sub-forum, I was happy. It didn't get used enough so it was tossed away and they took the posts from that forum and placed them here, in the Dyna forum. I adapted so I'm guessing you will have to also. Sorry for the disappointment but that's the story of the FXR sub-forum.

Don't worry about posting here. In reality, your FXR is superior to the Dyna Family.

The FXR was one of the smoothest, best handling, riding motorcycles that HD ever made. Only reason they were discontinued was because it cost more to make them than it did to make the Dyna.

Bill

If you are asking "How so?" about the superiority, it was because the frame was more rigid, and the engine was rubber mounted at three points rather than the Dyna's two.

I have had quite a bit of experience with both, as my son owned a 1992 Lowrider Convertible FXR, and my wife owned a 1997 Dyna Lowrider. The FXR was smoother, the ride was better, and it definately out handled the Dyna.

There is nothing wrong with the Dyna, and I didn't mean to imply that there was, but the only thing it has over the FXR is possibly the twin cam engine, and in my opinion, a good running EVO that has been massaged a little is just as good.

Regards,

Bill
