Well I'm a believer of the deadly and notorious speed wobbles.....thougth for a second I was a gonner.... Anyone else getting this? I thought it was hype and inexperience but it's true.....be careful when speeding above 75.... I thought you had to go at least 85 to get the wobbles....apparently not....
I agree with Anubiss here - check your spoke tension and wheel trueness. More common than this, I think, is just that you've got crosswind or gusts hitting the bike. They can cause a bit more fun at say 85 mph, but they're not a 'real' speed wobble and maybe this is what you have here. Have to say I've ridden for hours all through the 80-100 mph range (ie 160 kph) and never had this prob in years on a Dyna with laced wheels AND other than pinging the spokes for tension and checking trueness haven't needed to do anything else with the stock HD laced wheel......ride safe there,
probably because you forgot to take the lock off. ha ha maybe that wasnt funny sorry........
my street bob you can tighten down the trottle at 85 and let go of the bars.. you have a definate problem, might want to get that checked out. ................... keith
First things first check tire pressure. That's the easiest, then alignment, then maybe have the wheels trued.I'd say balance but that rarely causes a wobble usually more like a vibration.I went round and round with this on one bike before finally deciding it just didn't like a particular model tire.I switched brands and the wobble stopped.Good luck.
When I ride with the quick detach windshield on, the front end starts to feel significantly unstable at about 75+ mph. With the shield off, the front end feels well planted.
