Default Kuryakyn forward control parts

While riding, the cotter pin that goes in the brake arm pedal fell out. Accordingly, the brake arm pedal dropped down and is destroyed. My question is, where can I order a new brake arm pedal?

Has anyone else had this happen? I called Kuryakyn and they said I have to order a new set of forwards because you cannot buy just that part!

I checked ebay and I cannot find just that part either. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

wow, kury wont sell them to ya... thats kinda strange. unless you wanna make, or have one made, ebay or the classifieds on here may be your only choice. or you can buy another set, rob the part, and sell it on ebay as an open boxed set of forwards, its your choice to disclose the missing part or not... another thought, do you know anyone with hd forwards. can that brake arm be modified to fit your kury forwards? you should be able to buy the arm from hd sepratly...

also there has been a lot of people on here recently switching back to mids... maybe they would part with the brake arm or complete kit for cheap... then you can part out the rest of the kit or save for spare parts.

but dont feel alone, my buddy lost the same cotter pin, but he found it before there was any damage to anything.

I have the kury forward extension kit and the cotter pin that came with the kit wasy very flimsy so i used the original and reinforced it with a key ring.

Not sure how reliable a small key ring by itself would be, but I bet it would work.

as far as the break arm, try Drag Specialties. I think they have their own line that is essentially the same look as OEM. Not sure if they have a Kury knock off.

+1 on flimsy cotter pin. I switched mine out during install.

If someone has the brake arm pedal and wants to sell it, let me know. Until I find one, I will probably just use the front brake.

I see I'm not the first person to drop the cotter pin and have my brake pedal drag. Those things were flimsy. I made a quick pedal adjustment and slid that (used) cotter pin back in. A block later the pedal is dragging the pavement.

My guess is that since I just installed the pin by feel and didn't put my head on the ground to look to see if both legs of the pin went through the hole, that I missed with one of the legs.

I didn't do much damage and replaced the cotter pin with a thicker one and now make sure to visually see that both legs go through the hole before bending them over. The thin one was just too easy to bend over with my finger tips without looking, the thicker one actually makes me get down on on the ground to bend with pliers, giving me a worm's eye view of how it was installed.

Sorry, but I can't help you with a cheap replacement.
