so heres the problem i had alot of play in my throttle, so after finding an old thread and watchin a few youtube vids i adjusted it.(one closest to me) i no longer have play and it snaps rite back no problem but now it seems like i rev higher quicker and need to shift lower speeds than before...what did i do and how can a fix it?
If there was slack in the cable you would have been missing a lot of horsepower...tightening the cable can seem like a performance upgrade if it was bad enough before.

You'll get used to it.
+1 Depending how bad it was, it probably feels like a hair trigger now. "play" in teh throttle is a bit of a personal preference thing, but I'd say if you had more than about an eighth of an inch before you felt the revs increasing you had a very sluggish response and were definitely missing the top end of teh twist so to speak.
Only thing I can think of is that your engine is now reving faster because you are able to give it more throttle... getting to a forward speed sooner, which might equate to having to shift sooner... there's a lot of pieces of the puzzle missing on this one....

Go back to the drawing board. Loosen up the throttle cable and make another adjustment to your liking. I made 3 adjustments to get mine exactly where I liked it.

I'm sure you'll get used to it soon enough. There's absolutely no correlation between slack in the throttle and shift points or how quickly it revs. Probably just a lot more sensitive now which makes everything seem like it's happening sooner/faster.
Yup, a bigger throttle opening for the same amount of wrist movement will feel like you are changing up at lower speeds...it won't change your gear ratios.
