i just purchased the speedometer/tachometer from the dealership. i remember seeing it on here and asked if they make it for a 2010 street bob and was told yes we do. so i get home and realize it doesn't fit. so my questions is can i make it fit?

You have to be more specific. What gauge did you buy and whats the part number cause the one you supplied is not a OEM Harley Part Number. I am guessing you have a 2010 SB? And who told you the gauge will fit?
Yes i have a 2010 street bob and yes its the 5inch speedo. so i need the 4inch speedo. kinda like the 5inch speedo and was wondering if i could make it fit. doesn't seem like i could make it fit.
this is the correct part number 70900070.
its the speedo/tach combo where you can change all of the colors.
Lat year I was at a parts counter and was shown the unit that would fit, but I wasn't ready to spend the bucks. Then this winter I was looking into tach options again, called a couple of local dealers and the parts guys could not find one that fit the 4" gauge. I took their word for it and went with a mini tach instead. It's possible they have been discontinued, but let us know if you find it.
You could change your dash panel out for a wide glide one, I believe the 5" fits in there. While your at it you could also relocate you ignition switch to this same panel!!!!
