damn, the ingenuity never ceases to amazes me. I half expected one of the updates to be "well i had some extra space in the bags after putting in the speakers so i a fabricated some insulated plates and turned the left bag into a beer cooler which i am going to power with a solar panel and the right bag in to a pizza oven which runs off the engine heat so we don't have to stop in towns as often....all quick release and powdercoated of course." Keep up the good work man; it keeps the rest of us inspired
hahaha actually... i talked about doing pannels on the tops of the bags to run another battery in there to run the stereo if we where parked.. but that would take up too much room hahahaha
ok! we are in the home stretch! bags are assembled, trimmed, mounted, fender fills are on, speakers are in and wired... whole front fairing is wired up (amp, i pod, xm, blue tooth mic, remote, etc)
only have to wire it into the bike and run the rear speaker wires 7 more wires and she is ready to rock... not going to be able to coat the blue stuff for the fairing and bags, that big storm knocked out power to the shop for the next 4 days... not sure i would have had time anyway!
welded up some hinges so the lids now hinge and not just pull off... going to add a retain wire to keep them to a specific spot when they open up... also going to line them in false furr when i get back, just no time right now

Hey joe,
can you send me close ups of your filler strips on the bags. Need to do something with mine. Also I found the WCC "forty" front fender has the ridge line on it that matches the rear dyna fender. put one on mine and really like how it matches the back.

All of this stuff is quick release correct? So basically you could put all this on, drive across the country to any motorcycle show, and then take it off for the cut up cruising mode?
