Seat question?
The stock seat was too soft for me and after a few hours I had sore *** syndrome. I went with Corbin, which I always find myself recommending because the comfort, quality and looks are tops in my book, but the Dual Tour is not around 300 . . . have to shell out more.
I'd decide if soft (Sundowner, Mustang, among others) or firm (Corbin, LaPera--I think--among others) works best for you first.
Liked it alot, but the wife complained her seat was too thin. Which is funny 'cause she's a tiny girl with no ***. Well maybe the no *** thing is the problem.
You can find these for under your 300 price all day long.
Traded up to Mustang Wide Solo with a Backrest. Mainly for the backrest. Now the backrests aren't the prettiest thing, but it is removable and man does it make a huge difference for comfort. I mean huge, my back is totally thankful to me.
I also got the Wide Vintage Rear seat for the wife, but it's currently sitting in my garage 'cause when now says the harleys vibrations tickle her nose.
Anyway, Love the Mustang stuff. It looks really good, and it's a different kind of foam to be all-day comfortable. If you can swing a backrest one, maybe a used one, do it. Makes a huge difference in fatigue, and in lumbar support for any lower back pain.
Just noticed yours is an 05, so it takes different seats. And there's not a Mustang one compatible listed on the site. Guess I can't make much of a recommendation...

I recommend getting a nice wide solo seat and a detachable passenger seat with some width to it. My seat is a Mustang wide and the detachable passenger seat is a matching Mustang wide that's 12" across.
Most of my riding is solo, but the passenger seat goes on and off in about a minute, so do the saddlebags, luggage racks and barrel bags.
If you're on a budget, don't scrimp on well made, too often it ends up costing more in the long run when you have to buy another and then another cheapie in search for comfort. Buy quality, even if you have to buy used.
