Default Seat question?

I have a 2005 Wide Glide with the original stock seat. After 2 hrs, my butt starts to wear out. I am looking at replacing the seat with another two up seat, but not sure which is best for the money. Would like to keep under $300. Do any of you have suggestions? I appreciate the help.

I just got a new C&C seat and I think it is awesome! Mine is a solo seat and I didn't look too much at the 2-up seats but you still might just check them out. Chuck is a great guy!

Default Seat question?

Sundowner with detachable pillion. Can ride all day, more than 12 hours, with no discomfort.

I find that there are two paths to comfort, and each of us is on one or the other of these: a soft seat or a firm seat.

The stock seat was too soft for me and after a few hours I had sore *** syndrome. I went with Corbin, which I always find myself recommending because the comfort, quality and looks are tops in my book, but the Dual Tour is not around 300 . . . have to shell out more.

I'd decide if soft (Sundowner, Mustang, among others) or firm (Corbin, LaPera--I think--among others) works best for you first.

I started with a Mustang Normal Width Vintage 2-up seat
Liked it alot, but the wife complained her seat was too thin. Which is funny 'cause she's a tiny girl with no ***. Well maybe the no *** thing is the problem.
You can find these for under your 300 price all day long.

Traded up to Mustang Wide Solo with a Backrest. Mainly for the backrest. Now the backrests aren't the prettiest thing, but it is removable and man does it make a huge difference for comfort. I mean huge, my back is totally thankful to me.
I also got the Wide Vintage Rear seat for the wife, but it's currently sitting in my garage 'cause when now says the harleys vibrations tickle her nose.

Anyway, Love the Mustang stuff. It looks really good, and it's a different kind of foam to be all-day comfortable. If you can swing a backrest one, maybe a used one, do it. Makes a huge difference in fatigue, and in lumbar support for any lower back pain.

Just noticed yours is an 05, so it takes different seats. And there's not a Mustang one compatible listed on the site. Guess I can't make much of a recommendation...

I purchased a Mustang seat. It was a lot better then the seat that came with it. It was more then 300 hunderd dollars, but the ride to Laconia madeit was well worth it. They have different rated seat.

If you like the look of your stock seat and just want to cahnge the way it feels look at mean city cycles. They do seat mods to your seat. About $150. I haven't done it yet but there are threads on here about them. They are also a site sponsor. Just a thought and way to save you some hard earned $$$.

The Mustang Vintage seat is very comfortable but I don't like how it raises me up so I usually ride with the Lepera Barebones. I did bolt the mustang seat on tonight though in preperation for my ride to Savannah on Saturday. I wouldn't have any other seat for that long ride.

Since you're looking for a 2-up seat, I assume you plan to ride with a passenger. If you think your seat is uncomfortable, give some consideration to the poor soul riding behind you, they are often left sitting on a thin log shaped pad.

I recommend getting a nice wide solo seat and a detachable passenger seat with some width to it. My seat is a Mustang wide and the detachable passenger seat is a matching Mustang wide that's 12" across.

Most of my riding is solo, but the passenger seat goes on and off in about a minute, so do the saddlebags, luggage racks and barrel bags.

If you're on a budget, don't scrimp on well made, too often it ends up costing more in the long run when you have to buy another and then another cheapie in search for comfort. Buy quality, even if you have to buy used.
